Pace at which indigenous systems are replacing imported beings to memory the troubling years from past. When people used to mock DRDO. And few of us used to tirelessly defend it.

It might be more militarily prudent for China to go for India before Taiwan. The latter ...well, let's just say a shooting war with the United States Navy doesn't have very choice odds. But if it were to invade India, that'd be pre-emptively wiping a future geopolitical competitor off the board. And given Indian aggression and behaving like a bully, its likely it's neighbors Pakistan and Bangladesh would (certainly in the case of the former) be happy to see India rendered lame or at any rate seriously crippled, perhaps losing half its population or more to a Chinese invasion... this would raise alarm bells in the West, but annihilating a highly belligerent and aggressive state actor like India could likely win China much hearts and minds in the rest of South Asia. A positive regional development - one to hope for
